SCR Europe are working with a 2nd teir football club who are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Football Nutritionist to join their performance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring tailored nutrition plans to optimize player performance, recovery, and overall well-being. Working closely with players, coaches, and medical staff, the Football Nutritionist will play a crucial role in enhancing athletic endurance, strength, and injury prevention through evidence-based nutritional strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Certification from a recognized sports nutrition body (e.g., ISSN, SENr, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with professional or elite-level football teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of sports science principles and their application to nutrition.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate players.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and travel for away games.
  • Knowledge of anti-doping regulations and safe supplementation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized nutrition programs based on players’ performance goals, body composition, and dietary needs.
  • Educate players on proper nutrition strategies for training, match days, and recovery.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor body composition, hydration levels, and overall nutritional status.
  • Work collaboratively with sports scientists, strength and conditioning coaches, and medical staff to align nutrition with performance goals.
  • Provide guidance on supplementation, hydration, and meal timing to maximize energy levels and recovery.
  • Coordinate with club chefs and catering teams to ensure meal plans align with performance and recovery requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest sports nutrition research and apply best practices to enhance player well-being.
  • Offer support for injury rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols through tailored nutrition plans.
  • Conduct workshops and one-on-one consultations to enhance players’ understanding of nutritional best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with anti-doping regulations and educate players on safe supplementation.
